Prof Lakshmy Ravishankar with over 30 years of experience has done her Ph. D in organic chemistry. Prof Lakshmy is currently working as an associate professor with K.E.T'S V.G.VAZE COLLEGE OF ARTS, SCIENCE and COMMERCE in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Prof Lakshmy is of the opinion that life without chemistry is like being in a coma state, wherein you are alive but you cannot experience the good things of life. Prof Lakshmy uses study circle while teaching chemistry. In study circle, she organizes a problem solving session for two hours every week. This helps the students to appreciate and understand organic chemistry better.

According to her, without chemistry, our five sensory organs, sight, smell, touch and feel would be redundant and hence chemistry has to be taught using all these aspects of life for better understanding.
