In what did the chemistry scientist keep the dishes?

The Zinc

We have a small story to share.

Nearly everyone in India uses iodised 'Tata Salt'. Well, we are the ones who make it. That's the end of the first story. But there's more.

Did you know we are the world's second largest producer of soda ash? Maybe you knew that. But did you know that soda ash is used in the making of a variety of things like glass, soaps & detergents, paper and even helps purify water. We have manufacturing facilities in Asia, Africa, Europe and North America.

We also make fertilizers that help plants and crops grow well, so that you can eat healthy food. As part of our outreach, we also help farmers in so many ways - getting them to learn new ways of farming and earning more money.

Since you are on The Human Touch of Chemistry site, you would be happy to know that Tata Chemicals Limited. started this initiative to make Chemistry interesting for you. Our Innovation Center is constantly working in the emerging areas of nanotechnology and biotechnology to protect our environment and diminish the effects of climate change. We have recently made an innovative, low-cost, nanotechnology based water purifier which is now providing affordable, safe drinking water.

You would be happy to know that we are also working to save the endangered Whale Shark, the Lions of Gir Sanctuary, Flamingoes...

All of this is part of our mission - 'serving society through science', and we apply our expertise in sciences, to develop high-tech and sustainable products.

We do so many things that it would be difficult to share it all on one page. But you can visit www.tatachemicals.com and read more about us.

Keep browsing through the site, and you will know why we love Chemistry so much.
